Package note: This Analysis covers a one-paragraph Federal Register correction (FR Doc. C1-2026-20360, 91 FR 66293, October 20, 2026) to an SEC proposed rule first published October 5, 2026 (FR Doc. 2026-20360, 91 FR 63388; Release No. 33-11444; 34-106534; IC-36351; File No. S7-2026-34; RIN 3235-AN83). We compared the corrected text against the original page.

Primary sources

  • Federal Register, “Interval Fund Modernization; Expansion of Multiple Share Class to Registered Closed-End Management Investment Companies and Business Development Companies; Correction” (October 20, 2026): https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/10/20/C1-2026-20360/interval-fund-modernization-expansion-of-multiple-share-class-to-registered-closed-end-management
  • Original proposed rule, 91 FR 63388 (October 5, 2026): https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2026-10-05/pdf/2026-20360.pdf

The correction rewrites the DATES section on page 63388 of the October 5 proposal to read: “This release was published in the Federal Register on October 5, 2026. Comments should be received on or before December 4, 2026.”

Core Tension

The deadline didn’t change. It was already December 4. The original DATES section printed “This r was published in the Federal Register on October 5, 2026. Comments should be received on or before December 4, 2026.” The only difference in the correction is that “r” becomes “release.” The comment deadline, the proposed rule text and every requirement stay the same. That’s worth knowing for anyone who read the “correction” heading as a new or extended comment period.
